2025

Where it began

EquipHer began in 2025 as a youth-led initiative focused on one question: How can we better equip girls with essential life skills? So we successfully pilot launched SheBudgets, financial literacy and money skills leaning program

2026

Becoming EquipHer

EquipHer was created as an umbrella organization to expand opportunities.

2026

Expanding the vision

We expanded our work and began developing Planet Her, focused on climate change.

EquipHer began in 2025 as a youth-led initiative focused on one question
How can we better equip girls with essential life skills?

Our first project, SheBudgets, introduced financial literacy to girls in a practical and engaging way.

Its success highlighted a broader need — girls were missing access to many other critical skills beyond what is typically taught in school.

2026 In response, we expanded our work and began developing Planet Her, a program focused on climate change and real-world problem solving.
By 2026, it became clear that this work needed a larger vision.
EquipHer was created as an umbrella organization to bring these initiatives together and expand skills development opportunities for girls across different areas.

equipped to shape it.”

Founder’s Note

I created EquipHer in response to a gap I kept seeing. Girls are not consistently equipped with the practical skills needed to navigate and shape the world around them.
While access to education has improved, access to applied, skills based learning has not kept pace. Too often, learning remains theoretical, leaving girls without the tools to make decisions, solve problems, and take action with confidence in real life contexts.
This gap is not neutral. It is shaped by gender.
Girls are still less encouraged to take risks, engage with areas like finance or problem solving, or see themselves as contributors to complex challenges like climate change.
EquipHer focuses on addressing this early, through hands on, community based learning that builds real world skills.
Because the goal is not only to learn, but to think, decide, and act.

Founder’s Note

I created EquipHer from a simple belief: girls should not only adapt to the world, but they should also be equipped to shape it.
Too often, girls grow up without access to learning experiences that build confidence, critical thinking, and the ability to take action in their own communities.
This gap becomes even more visible in the face of global challenges like where young voices—especially those of girls—are often missing from conversations and action plans.

EquipHer was designed to change this by equipping girls with practical, real-world skills through hands-on and community-based learning.

This is about more than education—it’s about equipping girls to lead their lives and contribute meaningfully to their communities.
We would be honoured to partner with you to bring this vision to life. Sincerely,

Aouatif Zebiri
